Too often in our churches, we place a great emphasis on numbers. We treat one another as part of groups first and foremost. Are you a Democrat or a Republican? Are you a member of a minority group or part of the majority? Are you a member of my denomination or a heretic?! But God values each soul. He rejoices more over one who is saved than over 99 who have no need of repentance. Andrew Roycroft has an excellent blog post on this subject on his blog Thinking Pastorally. I highly recommend it.
